The Huntsman Cancer Institute, founded by Jon M. Huntsman Sr., is located on the Circle of Hope Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah and has been a place of HOPE for so many families that have loved ones afflicted with this dreaded disease. It does offer hope to all that have entered its halls. A place of comfort and serenity where patients and families become part of the Huntsman Family.
One of the programs implemented to honor and memorialize its patients is the Memorial Walk around this beautiful complex where “engraved pavers” are placed in their behalf.
It has been five months since Josie lost her battle. I am glad to announce that another milestone has
been reached thanks to all of you that made contributions to the Huntsman Cancer Foundation to honor her.
She was such an example for many while a patient at Huntsman. God Bless all of you that made this journey bearable! The visits and meals and prayers and so many other actions by the Ward Family will always be appreciated. I think your actions are a true testament of The Gospel of Jesus Christ.
As many of you know Jon Huntsman Sr. has dedicated his life to helping all of us in the fight against this hideous disease. Last November, I had the opportunity of attending the Huntsman Foundation Gala in SLC along with 1300 attendees. The Foundation announced another ground breaking to enlarge the Research Center to bring in additional Medical Scientists and Researchers to further genetic research.
The funding for this expansion comes from the Huntsman Cancer Foundation!
Huntsman Cancer Institute has a national reputation in genetic research and has discovered more
mutations for inherited cancer than any other cancer center in the world. The Institute is the steward of the Utah Population Database, the world’s most comprehensive population registry linked to medical and health records. At the core of this marvelous tool are the world-renowned genealogical records of All of you that have made contributions to the Huntsman Cancer Foundation are helping to accelerate the cure or “Quality of Life” for cancer patients worldwide! I know that Josie is pleased!
